Here on offer is a great vintage Japanese celluloid kokeshi model of a world in a clam shell featuring a water mill, dating to 1940s Japan.
This wonderful little celluloid clam shell has some wonderful detail, made in cream celluloid to mimic ivory. The open shell portrays a water mill with a working wheel, in the landscape, beside a river and a cow in front of the mill. The shell sits securely on two little feet. The top of the shell features the celestial dragon.
The kokeshi is being offered in excellent vintage condition, it measures about 6.5cm by 8.5cm by 7cm.
